Exploring the Great Books
Focus Study:
This course explores the themes of temptation, desire, and love in the Great Books of the Western Tradition, beginning in Genesis and the Gospels, and continuing through John Milton, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and T.S. Eliot. Taught by Mr. Kent Reister, an experienced Great Books teacher, students will read and discuss selections from these foundational texts in an intimate, seminar-style setting. This is a high school level course, and will require reading and writing outside of class. A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of this course.
Taught By:
Mr. Kent Reister has been sharing his passion for the Great Books with students for five years at the American Heritage Charter Schools. Prior to teaching, Mr. Reister served in the United States Army. He is a graduate of the Torrey Honors College at BIOLA University.

All classes will be held at Emmanuel Faith Community Church.
